About this performance
Traditional dance lies at the heart of VPAG's repertoire. Our performers bring the movement vocabulary, costume and musicality of Pakistan's classical and regional traditions to the stage with discipline and grace. Each performance is shaped around the occasion, the audience and the story we want to tell.
The most recognised classical form in Pakistan is Kathak, which developed local schools here rather than being simply imported. Alongside it we stage regional repertoire drawn from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, so a cultural programme can move between registers without losing coherence.
